Steering Knuckle

The steering U-joint links the steering components together. It is located in between the upper steering shaft and collapsible element. In the event of a collision, this unit collapses protecting the driver’s chest from being hit. The steering U-joint is also used in the steering knuckle ensuring efficient transmission of the torque to the wheel.

1. These components don’t have a defined service life, therefore, they only need to be replaced when they stop working.
2. As installing new steering components requires a vehicle lift, it is recommended to use the services of specialists at a repair shop to install these parts.
3. Before dismantling the steering U-joint, make markings that indicate its initial position.
4. Use only those tools that are recommended in the operating and maintenance manual of the vehicle. For example, you might need a box spanner of a particular size.
