How to identify faulty exhaust system fasteners and joints

The components are best inspected from an inspection pit, or on a car ramp. Thoroughly inspect the components: corrosion, cracks, deformation, burnouts on the surface of the joints, destruction of rubber elements indicate the need to replace them. Then check the reliability of the exhaust system fasteners.

Then make sure that the exhaust system is airtight. For this purpose, ask an assistant to start the engine, and try to detect leaks. If smoke escapes through joints, then the clamps or connecting pipes may be loosened.
